COPPA Compliance

1. Overview
ProScouter is used by student athletes, some of whom are under the age of 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for any user under 13 who creates a profile.
2. Parental Consent Process
Before a minor under 13 can create a full profile, we require verifiable parental consent. Parents/guardians receive an email with a secure consent link and verification code.
Until consent is verified, the minor's account remains restricted and their profile is not publicly visible.
3. Information Collected from Minors
We collect only the information necessary to create an athlete profile: name, sport, school, performance stats, and optional media (photos/highlight videos) uploaded by the athlete or parent.
We do not knowingly collect more information from minors than is necessary for the athlete profile and recruiting features.
4. Parental Rights
Parents/guardians can review the information collected about their child, request corrections, request deletion of the account, or revoke consent at any time by contacting support@proscouter.net.
5. School Approval
In some cases, a school's approval may also be required in addition to parental consent before a minor athlete's profile becomes fully active, depending on school policy.
